The Niagara Alpaca Shop

Since 1994, Diane and George Schena have been raising alpacas and sharing the unmatched comfort of alpaca fiber with visitors near and far. With firsthand experience in breeding, birthing, boarding, training, shearing, and fiber preparation, they bring a depth of knowledge to everything in the shop.

They opened Niagara Alpaca Shop in 2007 to connect the community to high-quality, Fairtrade, and artisan-made alpaca products. Their decades of involvement with local, regional, and national alpaca organizations along with partnerships with major fiber cooperatives and manufacturers have ensured a curated selection of the finest goods available. Today, their shop is a seasonal destination where cozy meets curiosity.

Whether you're here for the world's softest socks, a luxurious sweater, or a peek at the alpacas grazing nearby, you're in for something special.

About Alpaca Products

Alpaca fiber is three times warmer than wool, naturally hypoallergenic, and stronger than cashmere. It comes in blends with cotton, silk, bamboo, or nylon to enhance durability, washability, and price range.

From soft scarves to machine-washable socks, every item is made to last and crafted from sustainably sourced alpaca fibers. Many products are Fair Trade certified, and the shop proudly features more than 40 different varieties of alpaca socks.

In addition to imported goods, Niagara Alpaca Shop carries handmade, hand-dyed, hand-knit, and handwoven treasures from local artisans. They also partner with regional textile mills to turn their own alpaca fiber into beautiful yarns and finished products. That means every piece has a story and sometimes a name. From one-of-a-kind garments to rustic throws, everything in the shop is selected with care.

Treat yourself or a friend to Alpaca… truly affordable luxury.
